Stree 2 brings Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor back to the world of horror comedy once again. The sequel starts from the same place where the first film ended. The trailer of Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Abhishek Banerjee was released recently, and it hints at an exciting and fun ride. Taking forward the story of the first film that ended in 2018, the sequel shows the town of Chanderi once again haunted by the ghost of Stree. The trailer shows several locals including Rajkummar, Abhishek, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana fighting a new evil spirit, the Sarkata Aadmi, with the help of Stree. So, get ready for this horror-comedy that will scare you and give you a dose of laughter.
The trailer begins with Pankaj Tripathi’s character Rudra Bhaiya introducing the people of Chanderi to the new threat ‘Sarkata’ (headless demon). This time, the people of Chanderi pray to the woman to “O Stree Raksha Karna” instead of saying “O Stree Kal Aana”.
The trailer has many thrilling and fun scenes. It has many funny one-liners along with scary scenes of ‘Sarkata’. At one point, Rudra Bhaiya says that Sarkata has come to Chanderi only to increase his followers.
Starring Shraddha and Rajkummar Rao in pivotal roles, the first film had ended on a cliffhanger where Shraddha’s character was shown wearing a ponytail which was connected to the evil spirit. This horror universe produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios has now expanded with films like Roohi (2021), Bhediya (2022) and Munjya (2024).
Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Banerjee’s characters in Bhediya also made brief appearances in Munjya. Akshay Kumar is rumoured to make a surprise appearance in the film and Tamannaah Bhatia will also be seen in a special role.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film will release on August 15.
