Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has finally broken his silence on the marriage rumours surrounding him and tennis star Sania Mirza. In a recent interaction with journalist Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube, when Shami was asked about these rumours, he slammed those circulating such news online. Shami urged people to refrain from spreading false news on social media and stressed that such memes may be for entertainment, but they can also prove to be harmful.
Shami said, ‘I request everyone to behave responsibly on social media and not spread such baseless news. It is weird and forced, but what to do?’
Shami clarified that when he opens the phone, he sees his own photo. He said, ‘I just want to say that no one should do such trolling. Memes are for your fun, but it is related to someone’s life. If it is related to someone’s life, then you should definitely think about it and then share such things.’
Reacting to the claims of Inzamam-ul-Haq, who had alleged that Arshdeep Singh was tampering with the ball, Shami gave a strong response. Shami said, ‘I just want to say one thing to Inzamam bhai, I respect him a lot. If you do the same thing, isn’t it ball tampering?’
Shami had also responded to the allegations of former Pakistan player Hasan Raza, when he said that India was getting different types of balls. Shami said, ‘I had said in an interview earlier that I would cut the ball in the middle and show whether there is any device or not. Pakistan has just presented another sample.’
Shami finally said, ‘Being a former legendary player, I did not expect such statements from him. I can’t even imagine that he could say such a thing. Even Wasim Akram said that it is not possible to install any equipment in the way the umpire gives you the ball.
